Service Description

Modern, positive and reward based puppy training ran by Mel who trains using methods from the IMDT (The Institute of Modern Dog Trainers) and other science based education providers. Mel's experience comes from fostering rescue dogs leading her to explore kind methods of training, she also has a keen interest in science based training after acquiring a BSc in Zoology. Training is all reward based (treats, toys, praise) to boost the relationship with your puppy. If you do not want to use rewards for training then these classes will not be the right fit for you. Small class size with 6 puppies per session so that you can get individual help. Laid back and fun. These classes are primarily focused on training work with owner and puppy, rather than a socialising class. However, there is allocated time at the end of each class for the puppies to say hello on lead, but due to the hall flooring it is not suitable for off lead play. Dogs must be friendly towards other dogs and people to attend. If your puppy is nervous of others please get in contact to discuss before booking. Course layout: Week 1 - Focus techniques Week 2 - Proximity work and loose lead walking Week 3 - Recall games and practise Week 4 - Self control exercises (leave it, drop it, 4 paws on the floor) Week 5 - Confidence and enrichment ideas Week 6 - Tricks and graduation games Detailed notes will sent out after each class so you can practise at home. You will be encouraged to practise in-between classes to get the most out of the course.
